FEBRUARY - MARCH 2020

Toastmasters Youth Leadership Program at Koinonia Academy, Plainfield, NJ

This is the fourth consecutive year that Living Stones is sponsoring Toastmasters for the high school seniors at Koinonia Academy (KA).  This eight-week program cultivates public speaking and leadership skills in youth.  Living Stones will be recruiting summer interns and speakers from the alumni of this program.  Because of the talent at KA being developed through Toastmasters, Living Stones will be able to expand its outreach to young people through speaking events and social media with students who have received an authentic Catholic education.

Theology of the Body Retreat, October 2019

Arise! Youth Track at NJ Catholic Charismatic Conference

Living Stones collaborated with LIFETEEN to facilitate a program specifically for youth, entitled "Made for Greatness," at this conference.  During this two day retreat, teens and adolescents heard the message that God has an individual plan for each of their lives.  They participated in "breakout" sessions to discuss the topics that were covered, including sexual integrity and how to own their faith and walk in it.

OCTOBER

Pure Freedom Seminar at St. Mary Mother of God parish, Middletown, NJ

At "Pure Freedom: What's Love got to do with it?" over 100 parents and teenagers heard the message of chastity, and were equipped with resources and practical information to address purity.  Living Stones collaborated with Gene Zannetti (Spiritual Strength) and Holly Wright (LIFENET ministries), to deliver powerful and dynamic presentations tailored specifically for young women, young men, and parents.

Participants were given chastity resources donated by St. Mary's Respect Life Committee. The evening ended with worship, adoration, and a Purity Commitment Ceremony with pledge cards for teens to sign & date.

FEBRUARY

Trenton Diocesan Youth Conference at Holy Cross Academy, Delran, NJ

Over seventy 8th grade girls learned about their identity in Christ and that God has a plan for them in a presentation entitled "Hard to Serve."  Topics included where and how to serve the Lord, worthiness, fears of rejection and failure, and fear of sacrifices involved in service.

The girls were equipped with Scripture from Psalm 139: 13-14.

"For You formed my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother's womb. I will praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are your works, and I know this very well."

MARCH

MARCH-APRIL

Theology of the Body (TOB) series at Monmouth University Catholic Center

In this series that Living Stones adapted for Young Adults in four weekly sessions, college students had a safe place to discuss and explore their Catholic beliefs without fear of judgement.  They were able to express their thoughts and feelings about confronting the college "hook-up" culture, and discuss the gift of authentic love unfolded in TOB teachings and how to live TOB in a practical way.

The topics were We Are Created for Love; Naked without Shame: love vs. lust; Free, Total, Faithful, Fruitful and the language of the body; and Vocation and Discernment: living out TOB.
